We’re delighted to have secured a £150,000 heritage refurbishment project at 21 Milsom Street, a distinguished Grade II listed townhouse situated in the heart of Bath’s historic conservation area. The works are being delivered on behalf of Bath & North East Somerset Council (BANES) via their General Maintenance Framework.
Dating back to 1762, this historic building, now occupied by Savills estate agents, will undergo essential external repairs aimed at preserving and enhancing its original architectural features. The scope of work includes:
- Repairs to the Mansard roof detailing
- Refurbishment of roof skylights (two 12’ x 12’ units at the front and one larger unit approx. 1m x 3m)
- Restoration of traditional timber-framed sash windows
All tasks are being carried out by our heritage-trained operatives in strict accordance with conservation best practices to maintain the building’s historical integrity.
The 12-week programme has been carefully planned to minimise disruption while ensuring full compliance with listed building requirements. Works will include the erection of internal crash decks (10–12’ high) to facilitate the safe replacement of glazing and timber elements, including Georgian wired glass panels.
