We Retain Coveted Position on Bath and North East Somerset Council's Three Construction Frameworks

We continue our successful selection as the only preferred contractor on all three framework agreements for general building works and projects with Bath and North East Somerset Council, “B&NES”.

This achievement marks a significant milestone reflecting our commitment to maintain and improve the Council’s 1,100+ properties, of which nearly 40% have Listed status on the National Heritage List for England, the country’s official database of protected heritage assets. The three construction frameworks, managed by B&NES, cover a wide range of works comprising maintenance, intermediate works and major refurbishment projects to schools, offices, heritage sites and other public facilities buildings to a project value of c£4.5m, and positions NKS as a trusted partner to the Council.

With a strong local reputation for expertise in construction and maintenance, we have a proven track record of delivering high-quality heritage projects on time and within budget as with the ornate internal painting of The Guildhall, and the refurbishment of Parade Gardens bandstand, among other projects. The company’s selection for these frameworks is a testament to our passion to deliver excellent customer service that’s earned trust from both clients and industry peers alike.

Managing Director of NKS Contracts Ltd, Nick Smith, expressed his enthusiasm for this achievement:

“We are thrilled to remain chosen to work alongside Bath and North East Somerset Council on these significant construction frameworks until early 2025, which will mark our 20th year as B&NES preferred contractor. Our team is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of craftsmanship and service, and we are eager to contribute to the development and maintenance of vital infrastructure in the region.”

B&NES’s decision to include NKS as a preferred contractor underscores the company’s commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability in all its endeavours. The company looks forward to collaborating with B&NES and other stakeholders on future projects secured via these construction frameworks and will continue to contribute positively to the local community and economy by creating jobs, fostering skill development, and enhancing the region’s infrastructure.
