Council tenants across south Bristol are seeing a real difference at home as we commence a major bathroom modernisation programme in areas including Bedminster, St Annes, Brislington and Hartcliffe, as well as other Bristol suburbs.

The work follows the successful completion of upgrades at Corbett House and Beaufort House and forms part of a wider investment by Bristol City Council to improve the quality, comfort and safety of its homes for residents.

The changes are immediate and noticeable. Outdated facilities are being fully replaced with modern Twyford suites, alongside contemporary Altro flooring and Hydrolock multi-panel wall boards, creating a clean, modern look that is easy to maintain and built to last. Residents can also choose decorative colours to personalise their updated space, while behind the scenes each property benefits from important safety improvements, including full electrical rewires, new consumer unit, improved lighting, and upgraded smoke detector heads.

Keeping disruption to a minimum is a key focus of the programme. We complete each installation within just 10 days, with the new suite fitted on the same day the old one is removed, ensuring residents are never left without essential facilities.

The programme is delivered by our dedicated team of skilled tradespeople, enabling the completion of around four bathrooms every week. The works form part of a £2m contract delivered over 4-years, supporting Bristol City Council’s long-term commitment to investing in its housing stock and improving day-to-day living for tenants.
