NKS’s Contracts Manager, Brendan Turner, his partner Dannielle and their gorgeous pooch Dexter, are fundraising for Guide Dogs. Dexter, the ambitious canine with a heart as big as his appetite for treats took on the Herculean task of a 100-kilometer trek during October.

The adventure saw Dexter sniffing his way around Vassals Park and Oldbury Court Estate among other places close to Bristol’s Mangotsfield area, all in the name of raising funds for Guide Dogs. Armed with just a backpack filled with kibble, water and a squeaky toy for morale, he trotted tail held high in the spirit of adventure.

In the UK, nearly two million individuals grapple with sight loss, experiencing substantial disruptions to their everyday routines. Among them, approximately 180,000 seldom venture outside their homes independently, navigating through lives marked by loneliness and isolation.

Guide Dogs is dedicated to forging a world where those with sight loss are seamlessly integrated into life - a world where blindness or partial sight does not serve as a defining factor. Guide Dogs aspires to create an environment where ample support dismantles the obstacles posed by sight loss, enabling individuals to pursue their hopes and dreams without hindrance.
