We are pleased to confirm the modernisation of Dodington Parish Council’s council office and chambers in Chipping Sodbury near Bristol. Over an eight-week period and delivered entirely in-house by our professionally qualified trades, our team has worked diligently within a heavily occupied building, reconfiguring a section of the internal layout, improving facilities, and creating better utilisation of the building’s space for staff and visitors.

The refurbishment encompassed a wide range of enhancements, including thermally insulating the existing concrete slab to improve energy efficiency, installing air conditioning systems to ensure comfortable temperatures year-round, modernising kitchen facilities complete with electrical and mechanical modifications, while painting and redecorating works breathed new life into the interior space.

As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we worked closely with the council to install new disabled toilets, making the chambers and the facilities themselves accessible to all members of the community. This involved reducing the size of the storage area, creating space to accommodate these essential facilities.

One of the most satisfying aspects of this project is Richard Box’s personal journey. Having started his career with NKS as an apprentice carpenter, where he first set foot within Dodington Parish Hall, and now, 25 years on, he leads the project as the site supervisor. Richard's dedication, expertise, and leadership have played a crucial role in bringing the council's vision to life, and his progression reflects the values of growth and excellence that define the way we go about our work.

As we celebrate the completion of this project, we extend our thanks to Dodington Parish Council for entrusting us with this important project. Together, we have improved a council hall that's not only modern and functional but also a source of pride for the entire community.
