After nearly a year of standing vacant and boarded up following significant fire damage, a ground-floor flat in Speedwell, Bristol, is set for a new lease of life following insurance assessment and approval. Appointed by Sanctuary Housing, we have been tasked with leading the full refurbishment of this two-storey property to restore it as a safe, modern home for future tenants.
The flat will undergo an extensive 6–8 week internal refurbishment, returning the property to a safe, modern, and lettable condition. The scope of work includes a new bathroom suite, a fully fitted kitchen, a full electrical rewire, and the installation of a new energy-efficient boiler. The project will also involve reconfiguring the internal layout with new stud walling, as well as replacing doors and windows.
The refurbishment is a necessary response to the damage caused by the fire and forms part of Sanctuary Housing’s responsibility to reinstate the property to a safe and habitable condition for future tenants. Work is scheduled to begin shortly, with completion anticipated by late summer.
