This is a major bathroom modernisation programme delivered across south Bristol, providing council tenants with upgraded, safer, and more comfortable homes throughout Bedminster, St Annes, Brislington and Hartcliffe, as well as surrounding Bristol suburbs, supporting a wider investment in improving the quality of the city’s housing stock.

Client Requirements

Bristol City Council identified a need to modernise ageing bathroom facilities across its housing portfolio, improving both living standards and long-term asset condition. The programme forms part of a wider investment strategy aimed at enhancing comfort, safety, and energy efficiency for tenants, while ensuring homes remain compliant and fit for purpose, and a key requirement to deliver upgrades within occupied housing with minimum disruption to residents’ daily lives.

How we Helped

The programme builds on the successful completion of similar contracts at Corbett House and Beaufort House high rise tower blocks, with individual properties throughout Bristol being delivered by our dedicated team of skilled tradespeople. Outdated bathrooms are being fully stripped out and replaced with modern Twyford suites, complemented by Altro flooring and Hydrolock multi-panel wall systems to create durable, low-maintenance finishes.

Bath and wood-effect wall panelling

Each property also benefits from behind-the-scenes improvements, including full electrical rewires, new consumer units, upgraded lighting, and enhanced smoke detection. Residents are given the opportunity to personalise their space with a choice of decorative finishes, helping to create a more homely and modern environment.

To minimise disruption, each installation is carefully planned and completed within a 10-day programme, with new suites installed on the same day the existing bathroom is removed, ensuring residents are never left without essential facilities.

Project Outcome
The programme is delivering a clear and immediate improvement in living conditions for tenants across south Bristol. Homes are being transformed with modern, durable bathroom spaces that are easier to maintain and better suited to everyday use.

For Bristol City Council, the works represent a long-term investment in its housing stock, supporting its commitment to improving resident wellbeing and maintaining high-quality homes across the city. The programme is strengthening safety, enhancing comfort, and ensuring council properties remain fit for the future.
