Clifton College is a prestigious co-educational independent school set on an expansive campus in the affluent suburb of Clifton, Bristol, near the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge and the scenic Avon Gorge. Established in 1862, the school features a blend of historic Victorian buildings and modern facilities, catering to both day and boarding pupils.
This project is the result of our long-standing relationship with Clifton College, working alongside a professional client who values collaboration and excellence.
Client Requirements
With the project delayed by our client's other maintenance priorities, swiftly mobilising our resources and planning the completion of the work within the shortest possible timeframe was a critical factor in the project's success.

How we Helped
By carefully coordinating our efforts and leveraging available resources, we were able to minimise the impact of the delay and ensure that the project was completed efficiently. Our proactive approach to scheduling and communication with the client allowed us to meet key milestones and deliver the project on time, despite the initial setbacks.
We partnered with Crown Paints to colour match the painted surfaces, confirming the exact paint colours and finishes. Pupils and staff were informed of the temporary stair closure, with alternative routes clearly signposted within the building. The project was managed with a team of five decorators, who meticulously prepped the existing painted surfaces to receive fresh decorations.

A birdcage scaffold was used to allow our decorators to reach the ceiling of the four-story staircase. We prioritised work on the ceiling while colleagues prepared other surfaces, such as the mullions and cornice surrounds, for painting. For the walls and ceilings, we used Clean Extreme, while a water-based undercoat and oil-based gloss were applied to the woodwork. As a result, the colour match successfully restored the surfaces to their original look, and the project was completed efficiently with minimal disruption, leaving the building's interior aesthetically enhanced and well-preserved.
